Sokrates, Athenian Teacher + Body of Research + Thought Reflection Combo

  • Prerequisites

What do I need to start this combo?

    • Body of Research in hand.
    • Sokrates and Thought Reflection on the battlefield.
    • Sokrates does not have summoning sickness. You have a way to give a creature haste. An opponent cannot block creatures you control.
    • {g}{g}{g}{u}{u}{u} available
  • Steps

    How does this combo work?

    • 1
Cast Body of Research by paying {g}{g}{g}{u}{u}{u}, creating a 0/0 Fractal creature token, then putting a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to your eck size.
    • 2
Give the Fractal token haste, if needed.
    • 3
Activate Sokrates by tapping it, targeting the Fractal token.
    • 4
Declare the Fractal token as an attacker, attacking an opponent unable to block it.
    • 5
When the Fractal token would deal combat damage, instead prevent that damage. The defending player draws cards equal to the Fractal's power, rounded down, while you will draw double that many cards due to Thought Reflection.
