<p>Dragon Shield's newest line of <em>Magic: The Gathering</em>-themed sleeves launches on Friday, August 14th. Luckily, I got the wonderful opportunity to review the line ahead of time! <h2>Ten Guilds, 100 Sleeves, Plenty of Customization</h2>
<p>Speaking as a fan of the ten guilds of Ravnica, these sleeves are absolutely perfect for two-color decks in aesthetic. That said, Wizards of the Coast is certainly not above making additional watermarks or signets for other planes of existence within <em>Magic.</em> However, until we get a Lorehold-themed set of sleeves that are this pleasing to hold, I'll be sticking with the Boros Guild sleeves for my <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Quintorius, History Chaser" href="#" target="_blank">Quintorius, History Chaser</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> deck. Dragon Shield was gracious enough to send me all ten sets of sleeves for my verdict on them. Nevertheless, for this particular article, I'll be showcasing the Rakdos sleeves, with the firm expectation that each set is going to be similar, albeit with the obvious aesthetic differences.</p>

<p>The sleeves themselves are dual-matte with two color tones. The inside of each set's sleeves is one solid color, while the back is two-tone, printed with the respective guild's signet/watermark. They're fancy and look great.</p>
<p>At an MSRP of $24.99 per pack of 100 dual matte sleeves, these sleeves are at a bit of a heftier price than your average sleeves. However, for some players, you cannot put a price on presentation! This is partly why I'm so thrilled to bedeck my two-color decks in these where it matters.</p>
<h2>The Practicality Review: How Do These Fit?</h2>
<p>The sleeves in the Guildpact Series fit my Commander decks really nicely. For instance, the Rakdos sleeves, which I decided to put my <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Kuja, Genome Sorcerer" href="#" target="_blank">Kuja, Genome Sorcerer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> deck into, felt like they fit the deck snugly. They aren't fitting with too much resistance, but also aren't loose on the cards, either. These sleeves fit great; that's my point.</p>

<p>Furthermore, no air pockets formed when sleeving my cards in. To that end, I'm <span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><em>really</em> impressed</span> by the Guildpact Series.</p>
<h2>More Practicality: How Do These Shuffle?</h2>
<p>The Guildpact Series handles really well, too. When going into my shuffle test, I was able to shuffle these well without any slippage or wear to the sleeves. This unslipping characteristic is mostly thanks to the matte back. But the durability of these sleeves lends itself to the general lack of wear, as well!</p>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>Even more so than the two-tone dual matte sleeves I reviewed in July, I <em>really</em> like these sleeves in look and feel. If you're in the market for higher-end sleeves, I'd suggest that this is where your search might end. Depending on the deck, of course.</p>

Review - Dragon Shield Guildpact Series Sleeves

<h2>Dragon Shield Announcement Event at MagicCon Atlanta</h2>
<p>Members of the Space Cow Media (parent company of EDHREC) team were on hand at Dragon Shield's announcement event on September 25th in Atlanta. While we had our guesses, none of us knew for sure what the announcement would be. But when we finally saw it, in a room full of other content creators, media, and business partners, we were blown away.</p>
<p>But let's get to the real reason you're here. Let's check out the new products.</p>
<h2>The Legendary Series</h2>
<p>This Dual Matte Art sleeve line will feature some of the most iconic legendary creatures from <em>Magic</em>'s history. The first legend in the lineup is, appropriately, the most popular commander, which just happens to be a Dragon! It's <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="The Ur-Dragon" href="#" target="_blank">The Ur-Dragon</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, original art by Jaime Jones.</p>

<h2>The Landfall Series</h2>
<p>This is where the EDHREC crew got <em>really </em>hyped. According to Dragon Shield, this series "draws inspiration from the landscapes that form the foundation" of <em>Magic: The Gathering</em>.</p>
<p>The series kicks off with five Dual Matte Art sleeves featuring fetch lands, with art from the recent Special Guest line in <em>Tarkir: Dragonstorm</em>.</p>

<p>These and the Ur-Dragon sleeves made their official debut at MagicCon Atlanta, where patrons were able to purchase the newly revealed sleeves at the Dragon Shield booth. Others will have to wait until the sleeves hit the market, which is anticipated to happen later this year.</p>
<h2>The Guildpact Series</h2>
<p>Now for the product that got this Commander player the most excited. The Guildpact Series is coming next spring, and features sleeves showcasing the Guild symbols of each of the Ravnica guilds, including the Orzhov Syndicate, the Izzet League, and House Dimir.</p>
<p>These sleeves were not available at the convention, but we did get a sneak peek at them at the announcement event, which you can see in the pictures below.</p>
